死者を見守る者として永らく夜の世界へと旅立つ者たちを見送って来た。
度々、暇をしては通りかかった者に謎を出して困らせていたという。
そして謎が解けなかった者を食べてしまうという怖いウワサで知られている。
だがこのスフィンクスは遊び相手が居なくなるからという理由で１度も喰らったことがない。
それ故か、一向にスフィンクスの身体は成長する兆しすらみせない。
元々は権威を象徴する仮面を被り、口調もそれらしく振舞って見せていた。
だが、通りすがる者が皆怖れをなしていくのでいつからか素顔を晒すようになった。
異世界アァルの天空を統べる「世界代行者」の半身であり、昼の世界に生きてきた。
同ギルドの先達たちに張り合えるほど、駆け引きや騙し合いを得意とする。
子供扱いされるのは好きではないが、かわいいと誉めそやしてくる吸血鬼のことは嫌いではない。

東京へと来てからも身分を偽り、方々の学園を渡り歩くその人物こそ、かの大忍者・百地サンダユウである。
現在の職場である、歌舞輝蝶でも、気さくでひょうきんな教師を演じ、周囲に上手く溶け込んでいた。
しかし今回、秋の学園祭で扮することになったのは「ティルナノグの首なし騎士」。
自分と「同類」に化けることとなった彼の、過去の記憶のフタが開く。
生意気で知恵の回る相手に対して、かつての弟子のひとりを思い出すことがある。

だが今では、同族たちが通う歌舞伎町の学園にて自称「うだつのあがらない学園教師」を務める。
謙遜ではなく、事実そうなのだとクルースニクは信じている。
自他の立場を意識し過ぎて生徒たちとの間に境界線を引き、時に壁を作ってしまうのだとぼやく。
かつての同族狩りの時と何も変わりないと彼は自嘲を繰り返す。
そんな彼の過去を知らない生徒たちから与えられた、歌舞輝蝶学園のフェスの衣装。
それは、皮肉にも過去にクルースニクが戦ってきた同族たちの衣装であった。
伝統のヴァンパイア衣装に袖を通した彼は今改めて、自分の過去を振り返る。
現在の職場の同僚に、かつて敵対していた「社会分断のプロフェッショナル」がいるという。
その人物を煙たがる一方で、人気者教師として、頼りにすることもあるようだ。

かつて敵対し、分かれ分かれになった姉と弟。
もしも弟と自分の立ち位置が逆であったなら、弟と姉の距離が本来のものと違っていたら。
故郷で自分が大切にしていたあの大事な「きょうだい」は追放されなかったのかもしれない。
「神器」から溢れる輝かしき記憶の「陰」に思いを馳せ、彼は静かに東京という世界を観察する。
お天道様の下を歩けないのなら、月夜の世界に生きればいい。
追われた者や影持つ者にも故郷があっていいはずだ、生きる世界が作れるはずだと信じて。
しかし仮にその世界が実現した時、ツクヨミがまだ東京に存在しているかどうかは不明である。

まだエリイがただの現地民だった頃に読んだ、とある物語の登場人物。
それは平和を脅かす悪しき者でありながら、誰もを魅了する女吸血鬼だ。
物語の終盤で人間たちの逆襲に遭い、彼女は遂に退治される。
その姿と結末に、何故かエリイは寂しさを覚えた。
そして現在、偶然にも歌舞輝蝶学園のフェスにてエリイは「吸血鬼の女主人」を扮する事になる。
彼女が選んだ衣装は純白のドレス――かつて読んだ物語でかの女吸血鬼が着ていた服だった。
夜の歌舞伎町を歩く女王は、自分と同じ孤高を知る者との出会いを密かに願う。
それがギルドメンバーの一員なのか、まだ見ぬ誰かなのかは彼女自身にもわからない。
子供好きの彼女が学園の初等部をうろつき、担任の教師に連れて行かれる姿がしばしば目撃される。
